We did but it didn't really deter it enough.

If clogging up the wire is an issue just say nobody can make more than 1 claim in x amount of time
But innings/ab limits is stupid

To be completely frank, the rule is to stop teams like JTs from going berserk on the waiver wire on random shitty RP who are not good. If you have a different solution for that, feel free to post it. We are happy to clarify the reasons behind any rules. Why not let them be owned tho? I thought we started penalizing for waiver releases as the way to help combat this Doesn't work when everyone's a (1). I guess the 30 day wait before sending down could be helpful in that regard

We have 40 roster spots only, and now you are limiting the ability to send guys down (good thing). So why do we need to limit who you claim and how often you claim them? It seems pointless to me, like changing the rule just to change the rule.

It seems pointless to me, like changing the rule just to change the rule. I mean the point of us posting is so that we have this discussion and see what's best for the league. You agree that you like half of the rule so this is progress. We have a 20-page google doc of rules discussions edited by several staff members for the past few weeks. I can assure you each of these are well thought-out and are potential solutions to issues we see in the league. If you disagree with some of the rules that's fine, but we aren't spending hours of our time just for the sake of changing a rule.

Well I agree with another rule change - I'm fully against putting these limits on for claiming. Is this for discussion or is this rule change announced?

The point is to not expose so many players to the WW to reduce the amount of guys who are claimed/cut, which was an issue this season. This should also help weed out the meh players that aren't worth a claim, since you'll be able to get a better idea of how they are at the MLB level with 15+ IP instead of them throwing 1 IP.

But why are you deciding for me who is worth it? If I think a guy is worth it after 1 IP (based on minors numbers mostly) then why shouldn't I be able to claim him? Is 15 IP versus 1 IP really gonna tell me that this guy is good now? Or 30 PA vs 1 PA? It's gonna make no difference and only serves to suppress teams from adding talent

I am fine w/ implementing a 30 day before send down limit as well as some weekly claims won limit (as long as Sanders can keep track)
