Los Angeles Angels | The names read like an All-star line up card Tulowitski, Kemp, Utley, Holliday, Beltre the others are nothing to sneeze at either Chris Young. |

Oakland A'sSoriano was traded for and Rollins was signed im not sure either are difference makers in this division at this point. Gaby Sanchez, Jemile Weeks and Micheal Brantley form a nice young core offensively but they are facing a uphill battle. Jason Kubel signed as a free agent should provide them with some power at a nice value..Drew Pomeranz has stud written ALL over him. The rest of the rotation however does not. Relief Pitching Adrew Bailey and perhaps Ryan Perry will lead he bullpen. There is some depth there not sure about elite talent though. Micheal Choice could make a impact shortly for the A’s offense.
Seattle MarinersWhat to say here? Seattle fans can hope can’t they? I mean it’s possible Alex Rios and Ian Stewart rebound Julio Borbon realizes his potential FINALLY and Carlos Lee finds the fountain of youth….possible RIGHT? Even if a miracle happened here not sure it would make a bit of difference.APaul Maholm and……. Relief Pitching not a strength either Nick Hagadone could provide a glimmer of hope for the future though. Not a lot of elite talent here but few names that could help within next couple years are McGuire Noesi.
Texas RangersCF Jacoby Ellsbury, 2B Dustin Pedrioa and C Carlos Santana lead the way. The key players on this offense to me are LF Alex Gordon and DH/CF Cameron Maybin can they repeat last years break out performances.1-5 pretty decent staff. BIG QUESTION IS….can Josh Johnson stay healthy? Zack Greinke and Jamie Garcia fit in nicely behind a healthy? Johnson. Relief Pitching- JJ Putz and the newly signed Frank Francisco give the rangers a nice 1-2 punch in the pen with ogando and McGee possible being key contributors in 2012. Not a lot of elite talent here but Ramirez, Olt and Wieland should be in the bigs fairly soon.
American League West 2012 Summary |
This division was easy and at the same time difficult to prognosticate. Easy on the Sea and Oak part and VERY difficult when crowing a winner. I feel LAA has the ever so slight edge on Tex but could very easily see Tex winning VERY CLOSE!. I think LAA has the more potent offense and 1-5 a better staff. Again Texas isn’t far behind at all. Will be a race to watch for sure. Oak just isn’t going to compete with the other 2 power houses. SEA under new owner ship has it’s work cut out for it. I anticipate a lengthy rebuild. |
