Every Friday of the 2018 year OakInc will be posting the ODC Week in review, summarizing any moves made and notable chat topics for that week.
Trades:...Really.
There were 3 trades this week.
One was a classic Will pick shuffle trade.
One was Wood overpaying for a 4th round pick.
So by default BLOCKBUSTER OF THE WEEK: Brandon dealing Vince Velazquez to Hemmons for Alex Faedo. Velasquez was pretty good in 2016 before having an awful 2017. He's a lock for a spot in the Phillies rotation and should strikeout about a batter per inning. Faedo enters 2018 a top 60 prospect according to MLB.com and Baseball America with two plus pitches. Good deal for Brandon, as Velasquez and Faedo have similar ceilings, but Faedo I'd say is more likely to reach his.
MAXING OF THE WEEK: I'm going off the board with this one. Noah after signing Jason Heyward to a 5 year 3M a year deal (why?) Noah in chat says "Nice I got Heyward even tho i didnt need him lol." If you didn't need him then why commit 15M to an aging 2 category outfielder. Anyways.
