THE NEWS:
Kershaw is free at last!
Atlanta Braves FINALLY got league approval in a deal to send Clayton Kershaw out of town. Kershaw was dealt to the Evil Empire (not that evil empire) Detroit Tigers for a slew of assets namely top pitching prospect Julio Teheran and the #1 overall pick in the 2012 pick. In response to finally being traded Kershaw said: "I'm not a religious man but my prayers have been answered goodbye and good luck!.
AL Central Arms Race
In response to Division rival Detroit acquiring Clayton Kershaw The Whitesox made a trade of their own with the Arizona Diamondbacks for Dan Haren perhaps sacrificing a little of the future for now. The Whitesox sent RHP Jordan Zimmerman and RHP Michael Pineda to the Diamondbacks to complete the deal. One has to wonder what will the rest of the AL Central do to keep up?
Neil Walker:International Man of Mystery?
Last week's story of Neil Walker's bizarre interaction with newly called up Pirates reliever Junich Tazawa spread to Tazawa's homeland of Yokohama Japan. Tazawa said though his interpreter " my friends and family in Japan
think Neil Walker very strange man, very strange. Oranges WHY?". It's said some of Japan's top scientists would like to study Neil Walker WELL they might have more to examine then first thought. This past week the Pirates recalled RHP Nate Eovaldi "Neil when I first got here hugged me cried and gave me a live chicken Neil said "here I know you are from Texas take care of Mr.Sunflower Fortunato". "Mr....Sunflower Fortunato lives on the bus haha they took out some of the seats last thing we need is PETA crawling around here. Neil is kind of out there he plays cards on the bus with the cardboard cutouts and Mr.Sunflower Fortunato". Manny Ramirez said in response to all of this "that's just Neil being Neil."
