How did you hear about ODC?: From MLB Central Pro boards
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): played for over 20 years in various leagues and formats- been playing in a few Pro-Board type leagues in the last 2 to 3 years
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): I'm on daily
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? I really enjoy managing the roster of the team and making them as competitive as I can.
Team(s) applying for: Cincinnati Reds
I actually really like what this Reds team has, I think there are a few things that could be tinkered with to make it a contender this season, although I don't know where they are in the standings. Pitching could use some improvement although I do like the young arms of Woodruff and McCullers (even though he is injured). Looks like the core of players in the lineup is fairly solid, although the outfield could use a litte attention as well. if this is a team that needs a bit of a rebuild, there are pieces that look to be at the end of contract time that could be moved that may fetch some nice help- Altuve, although a player I would like to retain on this squad, would be one of those players that could bring a valuable piece or 2 for a restocking. Minor league roster has some players that could provide some future help, but may need some renovation as well, haven't had much time to look at it in depth at this point. I would really like the opportunity to see what I can do with this Franchise. thanks
thank you

How did you hear about ODC?: Jackson Sanders
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): 6 years of 10 Team Fantasy Baseball, not a dynasty
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): At least 1-3 times a day
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? Knowing more about the game of baseball, I want to join ODC so I start to look more in the minors now as well
Team(s) applying for: Nats
In one or more paragraphs, explain what you would do to change the franchise. Please be more specific than "I would rebuild" or "I would draft well." Of course, we don't expect you to know all the ins and outs of your potential team yet, but you should at least be able to address positional needs, any contracts/players you may want to move, and what your window of contention could be. Please leave separate answers if applying for two or more teams:
The nats have a little bit of cap space and very few people signed for the next season. I would take on a few larger contracts of other teams first to gain prospects and draft picks. The team is missing batters as well so I would focus on them rather than the pitchers who have been stockpiled already. I see this as defiantly a multiple year rebuild. The whole starting lineup needs an entire gutting so I will be relying highly on prospects over the next few years. Haven't had much time to look through how good the prospects are on the Nats, this will probably need some renovation as. Mainly I will look to improve upon the future for this team because the next few years look bleak. I'm excited about the renovation project this team presents.
Thank you

How did you hear about ODC?: Max
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): Been playing fantasy baseball for about 15 years, dynasty leagues the past 5 years, this style league the past 3 years (I joined MLB Central May of 2017.
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): I check in daily and I am most active on the weekends.
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? I like evaluating the player pool each year and identifying players and prospects I like more than the broader market. I'm looking for a stable league with good rules where I can just worry about doing my best to compete with other like minded active team owners.
Team(s) applying for: Nationals
In one or more paragraphs, explain what you would do to change the franchise. Please be more specific than "I would rebuild" or "I would draft well." Of course, we don't expect you to know all the ins and outs of your potential team yet, but you should at least be able to address positional needs, any contracts/players you may want to move, and what your window of contention could be. Please leave separate answers if applying for two or more teams:
I typically approach a rebuild with the same basic framework. 1) Multiplier Effect - identify the current assets I inherit and try to trade for greater quantity - the Nationals team doesn't have a ton of assets for this purpose but I would certainly test the market and be open to trading anyone including prospects for some larger quantity of prospects 2) focus on bats - I consider bats lower risk than arms, particularly when targeting guys substantially far from the majors so I would work on building out the core of my future competitive lineup and then worry about adding pitching closer to when I am in contention 3) Maximize cap in noncompetitive seasons - look for the most productive ways to use my cap when not competing to add more assets that can help me down the road

How did you hear about ODC?: The new Reds owner, Seth told me about it.
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): I have been playing fantasy baseball since 2001 and in that time have participated in several dynasty leagues, including a 20 team league (league champion in 2018) and a couple 30 team leagues as well. I have experience in a wide array of formats and typically enjoy most setups, though I am not as big on points leagues.
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): I typically check into all of my leagues several times a day and am a very invested owner.
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? I love trading and building up a team. Being able to identify a strategy loving forward and enact that plan to build the best team is always exciting. ODC in particular excited me because it looks like basically everyone is very active and always up to connect about their teams or other happenings around MLB. Having full buy in from all managers makes these leagues so much better and I’m excited to join one with such a long history of success.
Team(s) applying for: Kansas City Royals
In one or more paragraphs, explain what you would do to change the franchise. Please be more specific than "I would rebuild" or "I would draft well." Of course, we don't expect you to know all the ins and outs of your potential team yet, but you should at least be able to address positional needs, any contracts/players you may want to move, and what your window of contention could be. Please leave separate answers if applying for two or more teams:
This Royals roster does not have much in the way of MLB hitting talent and it definitely has huge holes that I’ll need to address to start fielding a competent team. There are a couple younger arms with MLB experience that I’ll likely build around (Cease, Keller, Quantrill) for my rotation. The team does have some solid prospects that should provide value moving forward as well (Bleday, Mountcastle, Pearson, Gore, etc.)
My first move will be to analyze the team and then clear out non-essential players at the MLB and MILB level. Freeing up more cap space (looking at you, Joey Votto and Yuli Gurriel) will be one goal as will strengthening the overall feel of my minors. Essentially, I see this team as far from contention and a project that will take time to build into a contender.
I’ll be looking to use all available resources to reach that goal of consistent contention and will likely be fairly active in trades, free agency and the draft.

How did you hear about ODC?: Reddit Thread
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): 10 years of regular fantasy experience, 3 years of dynasty experience
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): Daily check in/ chatting
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? being able to command a team and make them my own. Drawn to the dynasty aspect of it all, I love the challenge of taking a team from the bottom to a championship
Team(s) applying for: Washington
Its a challenge but I would have to take it slow and steady with the Nats, seeing two first and 4 seconds is a plus becauseI could immediately inject life into the farm system. The potential salary space n two seasons could work to my advantage, taking on bad contracts in return for a better haul of prospects is a possibility. The team clearly needs work top to bottom but thats a challenge id love taking head on!

Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): Midsummer Classic, Ruthian Roto Baseball & The Splendid Splinter (all 30 team Fantrax leagues on Proboards like this one).
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): I can check in comfortably every day or two minus vacations or personal circumstances.
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? I love the competition and building a team in my image based on my baseball philosophy and ideals.
Team(s) applying for: Washington Nationals
I would immediately amnesty Didi, I think that 20M in cap space could be used quite well. I would also use the draft picks the Nats have to draft as many first-round talents as possible and I would release many of the older players like Duda who are no longer justifiable on this roster. I would want to engage in a slower build, I wouldn't want to contend for a year or two and build up picks. I would sell any contract on the roster that would have value in trade for picks/prospects and rebuild the farm system up to eventually content. I did this in another league and the build took two years and I finally reached the finals this year. I think a similar plan would perfect for the Nats here.

How did you hear about ODC?: Jays GM (Sanders)
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): I don't have any fantasy baseball experience, only football. I know dynasty leagues have many more intricacies than simpler leagues, but I am willing to do the research on how to run a dynasty team in the hopes of turning around a non-contender.
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances):
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? Baseball is my favorite sport by far. I watch baseball every day, be it my team, primetime games, or highlights. I enjoy analyzing stats and trends, including newer stats, with the hopes of being able to project breakouts and slumps. I'm drawn to ODC because I wasn't actively looking for a league to join, but it was brought up to me by a current GM.
Team(s) applying for: Any possible openings
In one or more paragraphs, explain what you would do to change the franchise. Please be more specific than "I would rebuild" or "I would draft well." Of course, we don't expect you to know all the ins and outs of your potential team yet, but you should at least be able to address positional needs, any contracts/players you may want to move, and what your window of contention could be. Please leave separate answers if applying for two or more teams: Since I'm not applying for any specific team, I can't exactly provide specifics. However, I assume any team that becomes open is likely not a contender. Therefore I would, once seeing the team's needs and available assets, make a plan to get high-cost, low-value assets off the books and try to make the team younger for the future, with the goal of contending likely in 2+ years.

How did you hear about ODC?: I saw your post on Reddit.
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): I’ve been playing fantasy sports for 10 years now and recently got into dynasty leagues three years ago. I play football, baseball and basketball but consider baseball my main sport, as I am a huge baseball fan. I won my dynasty baseball league last year, which has since disbanded this season, and have won redraft leagues four times in the past (about 25 teams held across all sports in that span).
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): I would stay active in the league. During the season, I could post daily, and will at least be checking my team and setting lineups daily. I’ve never left a team orphaned.
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? I like fantasy baseball because I feel like I am my own GM. I was attracted to this league because I want to try out contracts leagues now, adding another level to my fantasy experience.
Team(s) applying for: whatever team you have open, I would take.
Please leave separate answers if applying for two or more teams: my ultimate goal is to make any team competitive within three years. I took a team that was third to last and won the following year. My process was to draft quality prospects ready to compete in a two year window (Jo Adell, Justus Sheffield, CJ Abrams) and followed that up with aggressive trades and sound waiver wire acquisitions (I traded Steven Matz and James Paxton up several times to end with Tatis Jr, Betts, Freeman and Rutschman). I keep a level head in the process, making moves that satisfy both parties. I’m not trying to rip people off in useless trade offers, but to make sure my team can be competitive both with the salary cap and player talent.

Application for team Name John L Email : johnczyk@verizon.net Years in fantasy sports : approximately 15-20 , some before online tracking via yahoo etc even existed . Most recently infatuated with dynasty and now salary cap leagues . I have probably played dynasty baseball and hockey for 3-4 years. Redraft leagues no longer interest me. Franchise interest: any team really though I am a die hard New Yorker ( follow both Yanks and Mets) Check in daily . Looking for league with a lot of dialogue, trash talking and active managers . There aren’t many leagues with good trash talking these days ! Strategy : looking to learn more about minor leaguers as typical leagues lack thus detail and not afraid of a challenge . Very familiar with proboards as use it in a dynasty hockey league . If there are two teams would like to join with Adam L. Who has also applied . Thanx.

I guess I posted it in the wrong thread again. I applied in the beginning of February.
Hey there,
I'm really interested in joining this league. David told me about this league and I'm in a league with him. I'm interested in taking over any team whether it be the best or the worst possible team. Let me know!!!!!
I'm usually on my phone like all the time so im a very active person. If I get the worst team, I can make sure to turn the team around within a year or 2.
I heard about this league from David

How did you hear about ODC?: Reddit
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): 10+ years experience playing all formats of leagues and all sports. 5+ years experience with dynasty leagues with at least 3 teams in each sport at this point. I also run a multipart dynasty league thats entering its 3rd year (reigning champion of that!)
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): I'll be on a few times a day at the very least
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? I love finding prospects in dynasty baseball. It's the deepest and most rewarding part when it pans out the right way. I'm also really intrigued to get into a proper contract league.
Team(s) applying for: whatever teams are open, I'm really not that picky.
Please leave separate answers if applying for two or more teams: Well since I don't exactly know the team I'm getting yet I have a general strategy. If the team is a rebuild I want to start trading assets for prospects and picks. The more picks the better because I can start to build a foundation that will carry me once the players get established. I'd also pick a few key players on the team currently to swing for younger top tier talent or hold onto and build my team around while the prospects make a name for themselves. I like to mix my teams with tried and true talent and fresh legs from the prospect pool which will be a bit cheaper and give me some real bang for my buck. If the team is a contender I'll address specific needs and upgrade where I can while maintaining a strong project pool to replace players that are either too expensive, have good trade value or are getting up there in age.

How did you hear about ODC?: Through a MLB dynasty discord
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): I have been in dynasty leagues ranging for 10 Teams to 16T teams im used to carrying out a rebuild as well as competing How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): I am very active checking fantasy way to often. Activity shouldn't be a problem for me im frequently online daily.
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? My favourite part about playing fantasy baseball is looking for under the radar players and prospects to help me succeed longterm. Or to move once then gain value to help me compete. I enjoy this aspect because researching is very fun to me and you can always look for sleepers. I was drawn to ODC because I am very intrigued by the realistic features it has and I have always wanted to try a 30 Team league.
Team(s) applying for: Atlanta Braves
In one or more paragraphs, explain what you would do to change the franchise. Please be more specific than "I would rebuild" or "I would draft well." Of course, we don't expect you to know all the ins and outs of your potential team yet, but you should at least be able to address positional needs, any contracts/players you may want to move, and what your window of contention could be. Please leave separate answers if applying for two or more teams:
While looking at the team I can see that it has a good core of players such a Yandy, Gallen, Marte, Adolis, Castillo. The team is also filled with many filler players who dont play much anymore such as Nomar Mazara, Austin Slater and Celestino Gilberto. Many of these core players are impending free agents so the team will take a massive step back next season. The future of the team is somewhat muddled by the massive contract for Stanton so I will look to rebuild/retool as im not a huge fan of the farm system. I will look to trade Castillo, Marte and Yandy to improve help rebuild my MiLB roster immediately.

How did you hear about ODC?: Fantrax forum and previously on NBC the edge
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed : 9 years now mostly on yahoo diamond manager over there. Thenl last 2 years I'm playing in WCB some people from the show are there as well I think and the start up last year Major League Dynasty.
How much time can you commit to the league? : Every day
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC?
:It maybe cliche but the numbers that was the biggest thing that drawn me in. The analytical department seeing the splits between hitting lefties or righties OBP, OPS and so much. And the prospects there are so many it's nice to research and see all those splits for them as well. Playing through the summer is very nice as well. About ODC, I prefer categories leagues and this will be my 2nd one with it same as WCB the MLD is points. The activity is very important as well it's seem structured very well and in the chat you can see topics about other sports and stuff which is fun.
Team(s) applying for: Atlanta Braves

: I would be looking to add in the OF as well as the SS/3B plus I would need depth at starting pitchers. I would challenge for 2024 world series appearance but at the same time trying to reshuffle the minors plus seeing this FA period as opportunity to add useful players for down the road becouse many are with ending contracts after next season. So basically I will try to compete but been balanced as well waiting a bit to see how the team looks and do some moves around the trade deadline.

How did you hear about ODC?: Post on the "Dynasty Fantasy Baseball + Prospects" discord from a leaguemate of mine in MLB Central (Fannatick)
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): Sporadic when younger, but more recently (and all in 30 team dynasty leagues), one season in a failed startup in 2021, two seasons in MLB Central as the Chicago Cubs from 2022-present, and one season in a league called DOS (where I ultimately did not enjoy the H2H points structure) in 2023.
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): Definitely check in daily, and enjoy discussing trades and uncovering and sharing random facts about players/teams/etc. when appropriate
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC?: Being a "real" GM with others interested in that same facet and in a way that something like OOTP Baseball doesn't really match for me. As well as the deep dives into prospects and trying to find the real diamonds in the rough at both the major and minor league level. ODC looks like it captures all of this nicely in a way that MLB Central does as well but not many other alternatives that I have found at least.
Team(s) applying for: Washington Nationals (or other future openings if this gets filled!)
The team definitely has some core pieces in place at 2B, in the OF, and sporadically throughout the pitching staff. Pretty impressed with the prospect pool as well, with more than their fair share of top 300 or so guys to make up for the lack of a true superstar in the bunch. I don't think they're quite ready for an all-in push yet, but would look to supplement with a couple free agents at the right price if possible or turn our available cap space into a resource to acquire more prospects and/or picks to make a bigger push over the following season or two.

How did you hear about ODC?: Previous owner for years, decided to stop by and say hi
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any):
A decade of fantasy baseball experience ranging from other 30 team dynasty leagues very similar to this one, 14-20 team dynasty (own forever) fantrax leagues with deep rosters. Well versed in h2h, points, and roto.
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances):
Daily most of the time, checking multiple times a day, being active with trades, responding to people, participating in the league.
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC?
I love the negotiation aspect of fantasy baseball trading. Love finding deals that are mutually beneficial to both teams. Having a full belief that your talent identification skills are better than your leaguemates leading you to getting the better future value. I love looking through the market and finding where I think owners are valuing a player less than me, or more than me and finding a deal.
I also love finding the needle in a haystack talent, nothing feels better than drafting junior caminero before it was cool.
Im drawn to ODC since you all are a bunch of homies that I Genuinely enjoyed playing fantasy baseball with
Team(s) applying for: Giants
This team needs a full blown rebuild. There is no core in place to build around, there is no elite crop of prospects, either. The best use for this team is using their better players, especially older pitchers: Bassitt, Eovaldi, Musgrove, to build up both the farm system, and having decent reliable players to hold down the fort as the prospect mine is built up. A year or two of high picks will be super helpful for this team too. Once this team has built a better foundation of prospects and younger players, I will have the cap space to buy the right players to fill around that core. At the end of the day, what this team needs is an active owner willing to make trades and be here for the long haul, so that they can see the fruits of their labour when they are ready to compete.

How did you hear about ODC?: randomly found a post on reddit.
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): been running a similar dynasty league, entering it's 10th season. 26 man rosters. 14 man under 500ab/150ip prospect roster. 60 man under 130ab/50ip prospect roster. It has 3 drafts yearly. We do the FYPD the week after the real FYPD, for a sense of realism, and who doesn't love a mid season draft? We do a minors draft in the off-season and a free agent draft leading to free agency. It's also salaries. I've loved dynasty since I knew what but was, bounced around in a few with really shitty LMs, and ended up having to make my own.
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): while I do run my own league mentioned above, I will absolutely guarantee I will have time to be on here daily.
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? I'm a baseball purist. Flat out. I watch baseball every day during the season. Baseball is a close 2nd to my family. When me and my wife got together 8 years ago, I literally told her that every year I buy mlb.tv and I watch baseball all season and a deal breaker would be that changing. So now I'm here and then kids also had to get used to it lmao.
Team(s) applying for: Any team. I would assume the team won't be great? I'm not gonna say ilthe team will need a complete rebuild but bill definitely be targeting youth and trying to build from the jump. Cash in on big money players if i have any and be a player in Free Agency.
Thanks for your time and I look forward to potentially being in contact in the future.
