NL West the most interesting Division in ODC?
The off-season is in full swing in ODC with Rule V's first two rounds behind behind us trades happening nearly daily now teams are beginning to take shape. Whats next? Free Agency! perhaps the most important stage of the ODC off-season there is one question everyone is asking? "Who has the most scratch, cheese, cheddar, moolah stacks MONEY?" Answer is Giants (JT) with a whopping 68.2m. Cash is king in FA no mistake about that. There are currently 8 teams with more than 33m to spend in FA the previously mentioned Giants and the following:
Rays:36.3m Royals:36.1m Rangers:35.6m Angels:55.4m Indians:55.1m
you may be counting on your fingers (one,two,...) "thats only six" well the other two teams also reside in the NL West:
Rockies:33.7m D'Backs:48.9m
The NL West has the potential to turn into the very wild NL West. The Dodgers don't have a lot of $ (4.4m) but have already added SP M.Tanaka and RP J.Hader doubt they are done and should be in the mix despite lacking the cap capital of other teams.
The Padres (11.4) like the Dodgers aren't cap flush as the other teams in the division but a trade of Gerrit Cole or Clayton Kershaw could change that. They might be the leader of the division right now and only a couple holes to plug with their cap.
The Rockies (33.7) are the wildcard of this bunch they could invest in MLB players in FA or they could spend it on prospects either way they should impact ODC with the amount of cap they have in some way.
The D'Backs (48.9) Go into FA armed with the 4th most amount of cap available and some nice young talent already. Will Hemmons go all in during FA? Time will tell.
The Giants (68.2) Are the biggest player in FA this year or are they? Certainly have the potential to be. Will they shock everyone and invest heavy into prospects and draft picks? After their failed waiver team of last year maybe they piece together a contender this year.
