For the 2020 season, if there is an early cancellation of the season (the real life regular season doesn’t finish), then these following rules will apply:
1) There will be no declared champion for the season. A champion will only be crowned if there is a complete Major League regular season. In other words, a champion will only be crowned if the playoffs finish in here.
2) Scale Players will advance so long as they meet these updated thresholds for hitters (150 PA) and pitchers (15 IP). Even if the season cancels early, players will advance so long as they hit these marks. FA contracts will advance regardless, as usual.
3) The draft order will be based on the standings for the final day of the season, even if cancelled early. The draft order will be based on the same format as the last few years. Given that this year only 8 teams will be assigned playoff spots, the 9th overall team will own the 1st overall pick.
4) There will be comp picks for this offseason. But in this case, they will be based on 2019 stats only. This will allow us to use a full season of stats to determine comp picks.

*UPDATE*
7.28.20 @ 2:15 EST
The IRL Miami Marlins have "paused" their season per the source below. We will allow any owner to make an in-week corresponding transaction if they have a Miami Marlins player on their 26 man roster, for this week only.
Craig Mish of SportsGrid reports that the Marlins' season has been "paused" for the time being. It was the only real choice with a COVID-19 outbreak in their clubhouse. By last count, 17 individuals (including 15 players and two coaches) have tested positive. In addition to all of the safety concerns, the Marlins simply can't field a competitive team right now. There has also been talk about the Phillies (who played the Marlins over the weekend) pausing their season at least for a few days. There should be more clarity on the situation soon, but this is not what anybody wants to see less than one week into the season.
