National League Power Rankings |
Number 1 Miami Marlins number 1 team in the 4 team race in the NL East. Cardinals may have the better record but Marlins offense is just to good only Tigers have a better offense.
Number 2 St. Louis Cardinals 1st on top of the NL Central having the best record in the league and making a big trade to get tons of players really helps them moving forward on there way to the playoffs.
Number 3 New York Mets solid offense and now there rotation gets a big push by getting a star pitcher from the Rays Matt Cain could guarantee them a playoff spot.
Number 4 Philadelphia Phillies putting them at number 4 was tough to me there are 3 teams that could easily be put here. They have a decent team all around have a few star players it will be fun to see if they hold onto there lead in playoff run.
Number 5 Arizona Diamondbacks they may be in 2nd place in the West but with there most recent trade with Cardinals they should easily catch up with Rockies unless they make a trade.
Number 6 Washington Nationals 4th in NL East but still with in a reasonable amount out of wildcard spot and the schedule going forward should help out.
Number 7 Colorado Rockies 1st place team but might fall if they dont make a move soon. Really need to counter Diamondbacks move and get one of there own.
Number 8 Milwaukee Brewers quite a few nice players with Votto on the deal probably hurts a little bit. Rotation has a few nice names and pen could really use a closer.
Number 9 Los Angeles Dodgers solid team it was very close to me putting the number 10 team here but the pitching the Dodgers have is much better which is why they are in this position.
Number 10 Houston Astros offense is not that bad but there rotation is a wreck they have just 1 starter except them to get passed by Brewers real soon.
Number 11 San Diego Padres they got a lot of depth in the Pujols trade which is helping them alot. Could finish like 10-15 games under .500.
Number 12 Cincinnati Reds it was tough not putting them higher cause there owner has done a solid job of putting this team together despite trading Verlander to Tigers but it was a solid trade which is all they have been making.
Number 13 San Francisco Giants this team should be in 1st next year at this time with tons of solid prospects and some great young talent with Rizzo, Bauer, and Marte. This just ain't the year for them players are to young.
Number 14 Chicago Cubs Jarrod Parker and Paul Goldschimdt only real major league pieces they have you could probably mention Upton but that 20 mil a year hurts. They have the pieces to build around have to wait in offseason to see what they do.
Number 15 Pittsburgh Pirates not much to say about the MLB team but they have a better team than Braves MLB and MiLB.
Number 16 Atlanta Braves horrible team Braves and Pirates were close but Braves will probably finish 29th in league behind Mariners.
