How did you hear about ODC?: I saw the link through MLB Central. Max has played in the league I run for 8 years or so.
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): I've run Base Knock Dynasty Baseball since 2011. So 10+ years of playing in 30 team dynasty leagues. I'm also in an NBA League. I've been in other MLB leagues, but haven't really found that perfect fit for a second league yet.
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): I can't commit to checking 365 days a year. I have other things going on with work and my family. But if there is something that needs my attention (FA, Trades, Draft, Setting Lines), it will not go unnoticed. Happy to chat in whatever communication form the league uses (GroupMe, WhatsApp, whatever).
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC? I love active leagues and this team seems to be that. I love the 30 team leagues, because there's so many different avenues to becoming successful. Always more players to research. Always a minor trade to make to improve your roster. It's like a big puzzle.
Team(s) applying for: Washington Nationals. Heard they were open in the chat.
In one or more paragraphs, explain what you would do to change the franchise. Please be more specific than "I would rebuild" or "I would draft well." Of course, we don't expect you to know all the ins and outs of your potential team yet, but you should at least be able to address positional needs, any contracts/players you may want to move, and what your window of contention could be. Please leave separate answers if applying for two or more teams:
I just scanned the roster quickly. Looks rough. Though it doesn't matter much to me what I start out with. I will build it into a consistent playoff team in 2-3 years through great drafting and trading. I typically like to find the rhythms of a league and take advantage of what I see as the discrepancies in value, whether than be with draft picks, prospects, aging players. The team will get my best effort and will be left in a better position than I found it in if I ever am unable to continue in the league.
After talking in the chat, I know a couple guys in the league that can also vouch for me as an owner.
