How did you hear about ODC?: I was a previous owner briefly
Previous fantasy experience (please be detailed, e.g. other dynasty leagues, if any): I'm 25 and I've been playing fantasy my entire life. I fell in love helping my dad with his league when I was a kid. I remember checking the box scores in the newspaper everyday. Anyway, I've been involved in a number of leagues that weren't dynasty related. However, I feel as though I'm doing fewer and fewer of them at this point and I'd like to get back to my roots and get involved in dynasty again.
How much time can you commit to the league? We ask that you at least check in daily (not including vacations or extenuating circumstances): 2-3 hours/day
What is your favorite part about playing fantasy baseball? Why are you drawn to ODC?
I love the ability to own prospects and manage cap. Keeping up with the prospect landscape (reading, podcasts, ect.) is one of my favorite pastimes. As for the managing and manipulation of salary, it reminds me a bit of my day job (Financial Advisor) and managing a portfolio. Both aspects are so much better than regular fantasy leagues.
Team(s) applying for:
I'm happy to apply for whatever team is open. If someone could shed some light on that I may be able to answer the question in a more direct fashion. However, at my core I believe in organizational depth and that starts with a strong farm system. During my brief stint in this league previously I stressed that a lot. Funny enough, I remember attempting to way overpay for 16 year old kid named Rafael Devers who I was in love with but the owner smartly didn't accept it. I also remember drafting Willy Adames in the Rule 5 draft. Essentially, I use a bottom up approach. Obviously, if I inherit a competitor that would change a bit. I'd likely value major league and upper minor league talent. The goal is always to sustain a winning team, but ultimately the natural evolution of a rebuild tends to win out after a certain period. I could ramble on forever here. I would understand if there are owners that are skeptical of letting me back in, but I'm at a very different point in my life and I'd love to get involved in this again!
