Injuries have done me in this year so it's time to sell off / retool the roster. I'm open to moving most of my players. Mainly looking for 1st-4th round picks, rule v picks, solid prospects, and interesting young MLBers.
Starters Available:
DH: JD Martinez - Monster on offense hitting in a great lineup. .947 OPS, 15 home runs, and 43 RBIs already - on pace to slug 40 HRs with 115 RBIs. This is the hitter that your championship team needs to add.
LF: Andrew McCutchen - Having a great season, above average contributor in every category. Slashing .268/.376/.437 with power and speed, on pace to hit 25 homers with 20 steals.
RF: Charlie Blackmon - Good veteran bat who plays everyday and contributes all around. Provides a nice boost to your rate stats, slashing .276/.358/.439, and good bet to end the year with 80+ Runs and RBIs.
2B: Christian Arroyo - Starting 2B for Red Sox. Injured early in season but back now and heating up. Good bat to ball skills and smart player.
SP: Charlie Morton - Good veteran mid rotation SP. You know what you're getting with him. Mid 3s ERA and major strikeout upside (10 Ks/9), pitching for one of the best teams in baseball.
SP: Michael Wacha - Another strong mid rotation SP. When he's hot there's almost no one better. Safe bet for mid to low 3s ERA and a strikeout an inning.
SP: Tyler Anderson - Tough start to the season but has gotten a bit unlucky (high BABIP and low strand rate) and was excellent last year (2.57 ERA over 180 IP). Solid bounceback candidate, locked into a rotation spot, and signed cheaply through 2024.
SP/RP: Matt Strahm - Was great in the rotation to start the season and now pitching well in a late inning role out of the pen. Can stick him in a SP spot to effectively start an extra good RP. 3.05 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 11.5 K/9.
RP: Brad Boxberger - Currently injured but should be back in next few weeks. Will slide right into high leverage RP role for the Cubs. Strong track record with 53 holds over the last 2 seasons + experienced closer with 84 career saves.
RP: Scott Alexander - Solid RP, will get holds + the occasional save. Good ratios (0.92 WHIP).
Others Available:
C: Victor Caratini - cheap, average backup catcher who starts a few times a week
C: Tom Murphy - cheap, slightly worse than Caratini (but more power upside)
1B: Ji Man Choi - cheap, injured but should be back in next month or so. solid OBP skills with some power.
2B/SS: David Fletcher - cheap, struggled at start of year but played well since getting sent to AAA and likely to be back in majors soon.
SP: Jeffrey Springs - Out for the year but looked like an ace last year and early this season before going down
