The Minnesota Twins agree to trade RF Will Venable 1M (3) and prospect Trey McNutt to the Chicago Cubs for 2B Gordon Beckham 1M (3), prospect Kila Ka'aihue and Detroit's 2012 4th round pick.
We agree to this trade in order to acquire a player in Beckham who we feel is set for a breakout campaign at a premium position. Parting with Venable and McNutt is difficult, but they are merely pieces to acquire parts of the final vision of this team.
