At the All-Star Break, the New York Mets are leading the National League East division with a record of 139-61-14. That record gives the Mets the second best overall record in the NL, second to only the defending National League champion, the St. Louis Cardinals, who hold a very impressive record of 148-48-14. The Mets take an 11.5 game division lead over the Washington Nationals into the Midsummer Classic.
Here are some Midseason Mets awards:
Mets 1st Half MVP: Joey Votto Mets 1st Half Cy Young: Matt Harvey
Here is where the Mets place in the National League in each of the fourteen statistical categories:
R: 2nd (408) HR: 5th (87) RBI: 4th (346) SB: 3rd (51) AVG: 3rd (.2791) OBP: 1st (.365) SLG: 4th (.438) W: ERA: 1st (3.30) WHIP: 2nd (1.16) QS: 2nd (66) K: 2nd (751) SV: 1st (60) HD: 8th (22)
The Mets' weakest category, holds, was recently upgraded significantly as the Mets' GM was able to acquire the league leader in holds, Mark Melancon, who had 25 1st half holds, more than the entire Mets team in the first half, and Jesse Crain, who is 5th in the MLB in holds with 19.
Asked about any potential second-half trading moves, the Mets' General Manager had to say the following:
We could upgrade our outfield and shortstop, left field is probably our biggest need at the break. Recently acquired, Nick Markakis should help give Choo some help in the outfield. With Choo's emergence in center, I will shop Angel Pagan in the second half. Also, All-Star First Baseman, Prince Fielder will not be heavily shopped by any means, but I will listen to offers on the Big Fella.
Here is the 2nd half schedule for your New York Mets:
July 15-July 28: Miami Marlins (110-85-15) July 29-August 4: Philadelphia Phillies (96-92-22) August 5-August 11: Atlanta Braves (42-149-19) August 12-August 18: Los Angeles Dodgers (78-117-15) August 19-August 25: Washington Nationals (126-71-13) August 26-September 1: San Francisco Giants (57-127-26) September 2-September 8: Cincinnati Reds (130-70-9)

The Mets will have two of their stars participate in tonight's 2013 Home Run Derby. Prince Fielder will be representing the American League in The Derby, and David Wright, captain of the NL team, will represent the National League.
Right now Fielder is an early favorite along with Rangers' first baseman, Chris Davis, and Orioles' third baseman, Pedro Alvarez. But it's The Derby, and anything can happen, so stay tuned and watch tonight at 8 ET.
