NL West-
Arizona Diamondbacks- The Diamondbacks first year in the division may be year one of a long lasting dynasty, the team boasts a great lineup with a hammering OF of Braun, McCutchen, and Beltran, the Rotation is one the the strongest in ODC Aced by Madison Bumgarner and Justin Verlander, it also has depth and youth which will be a strength in a long season, the bullpen could use some work and Id expect to see them utilize their cap to adress this need in FA
Projected Finish-1st Place
Los Angeles Dodgers- First and foremost this team may have the biggest difference between their pre FA and post FA power level of their overall team, with 70M in Cap, this guy will be spending like a true ballin ass L.A. gm is expected to. Currently however, the roster is very mediocre, Jose Altuve is a solid player but wont take a team to the ship on his own, also Josh Donaldson will have to prove he can keep the production going after a breakout 2013 campaign, this season will be won or lost on the effectiveness of the FAs Signed
Projected Finish-3rd Place
San Deigo Padres- Can't blame a guy for trying to compete! The Padres has increased the talent on his roster 1000%, however 1000% better than 0 isnt much, it would take a lot for the Padres to win this year but there are some blocks starting to form, Sonny Gray looked very good in his first season, and if Ryan Howard and Dan Uggla can regain their touch the offense could produce on some weeks, overall it's a good try but the talent wont be there to take a title in this division.
Projected Finish-4th Place
San Francisco Giants- Sweet Matt Kemp trade bro, now all you need is the rest of the team, all joking aside the Giant franchise has been a black hole for years but under the current ownership they have made leaps and bounds, Chris Carter is a thunderstick in the lineup that is spare from other bats than Kemp and the Staff is a unique collection of stats that I dont think will be competitive enough to take a division title, but the beginnings are there, another team that has an insane amount of cap (45M) we will see how their offseason unfolds to truley rate them.
Projected Finish-5th Place
Colorado Rockies- Rockies have been a surprisingly good team since taken over from the reign of TSack, theres a lot of good young sustainable talent on the roster and Trumbo/Teheran really power the team along, I expect this team to compete for a division title but ultimately I dont think the talent is here to win over the Diamondbacks, a good WC candidate tho.
Projected Finish-2nd Place
NL Central-
Cincinatti Reds- A very mediocre roster and not a lot of cap have me thinking it'll be a tough first season for the Reds while they adjust to their competition in the NL Central,
Projected Finish-6th Place
Pittsburgh Pirates- This franchise is going to be a power house in the years to come, a lot of great young talent he, Puig/Wacha/Gyorko/Walker/Rosenthal/Cingrani ect ect, but not enough of a team atm to compete with the Cards/Cubs, the team can be helped in some spots in FA as they have money open but the farm is gonna have to produce more MLB talent and their players will have to learn to be consistent if they really want to make noise.
Projected Finish-3rd Place
Chicago Cubs- This team is going to be a fierce competitor and will only recieve more help from the farm as his players develop, I expect this team to either win the division or take a very close WC to the Cards, the arms are insane Price, Zimmerman, Hamels, Cole, Jiminez and I believe the offense is above average, the team will have to have a more healthy season in 14' to beat out the cards but I think this will be one of the best division races.
Projected Finish-1st Place
St.Louis Cardinals- Regining WS Champs the Cardinals dumped a lot of talent for youth in the offseason, Trout, Machado, Profar, Rosario, Rizzo sign me up, however you also have to field a pitching staff and I just dont see them outpitching the Cubs, with no money to improve in FA I just dont see the guns to beat the Cubs out.
Projected Finish-2nd Place
Houston Astros- Theres some very good players on this roster but theres not many players on the roster at all atm, the Astros have a boatload of money but ultimately it wont be enough to field a complete enough team for a title, now this could change depending on how FA goes, I just dont see it happening with all the holes.
Projected Finish-4th Place
Milwaukee Brewers- This team is pretty mediocre with almost no pitching and no bullpen, they have some cap (12Mish) and a decent farm but a lot would have to go right for them to do much damage in the division this year.
Projected Finish-5th Place
NL East-
Washington Nationals- The Nats have a Elite level pitching staff, but may want to figure out a way to aquire some offense so they can compete, Hammy and Pujols were whatd I say...slightly disappointing, if they can bounce back the Nats will be able to win quite a few weeks on the back of their pitching staff while taking few cats in hitting. I dont think he'll win the divison, but will be competitive
Projected Finish-4th Place
Atlanta Braves- God Save you Wood. Good Start Keep it up, the city of Atlanta thanks you even tho youll finish dead last.
Projected Finish-5th Place
Philadelphia Philles- This team I expect to be able to compete right away after FA, it doesn't hurt that he's got eleven billion zillion dollars to spend in FA, this team needs pitching like fiends need crack but the assests are here to aquire some, I dont expect a division championship but if enough things go right its not completely out of the question.
Projected Finish-3rd Place
Miami Marlins- Loads of cash? Check Great young talent? Check This team will be competeing for the division this year also along with the Mets but I think ultimately they fall short, theres a very powerful lineup here, Goldy, Heyward, Meyers, Jennings just to name a few and a solid pitching staff to back it up, we'll see what he can do in FA to bolster his position.
Projected Finish-2nd Place
New York Mets- This is the most complete team in the NL East, and I fully expect them to win the division, I like the lineup its got good roto power with Votto, Yadi, Tulo (if he can have a healthy season) and Anibal Sanchez can anchor his staff if he stays consistent, I also think this is still the most elite bullpen in the east.
Projected Finish-1st Place
