With the end of another great season of ODC here and some of us left with only hopes and dreams of the future, I thought it'd cool to make an AL and NL future lineup comprised of both prospects and players under (3) on the scale, by (3) I also mean right at this moment, not what they'll be at the beginning of 2015. In Reality this is probably better named as an all 2020 Team or something but who cares about titles son. I'll make 2 full rosters of every position plus 5 SP.
I'll start with the American League side since that's where I reside and a good portion of our league says fuck the younger homies son.
C- Devin Mesoraco (BOS)
It's hard to argue having him as the starting C for our squad following this year which has him at 22HR and hitting about 280. While cooling off a bit as of recently he was on a tear throughout most of the year with the exception of the occasional injury. Known for his power ever since he was a prospect, the Reds organization is finally starting to see returns on their investment. I might add that Dusty Baker really slowed his progress down about a year or 2 at the minimum. Acquired from the Tigers for 16M a while back, I too am starting to see a return on my investment.
1B- Anthony Rizzo (SEA)
Rizzo has shown promise and has puzzled owners almost equally so since joining the MLB with the Padres awhile back. While he had a down year in 2013, his 2014 Campaign has been and continues to be a great success at the time of this posting.
2B-Javier Baez (BOS)
Whether this ends up being his final placement position wise remains to be seen but for now it'll do. Some of the best power in the game no questions asked. His contact issues have been seen along the way and while he has muscled through it at all the minor league levels, It's clear he'll have to start making some adjustments if he wants to hang at the highest level. Regardless, the average will never be anything to brag about but the power will be, combined with 10-15SB a season for the time being.
3B- Kris Bryant (BOS)
Yet another member of the Red Sox family to join the first team. His prodigious power ranks among the very best to ever hold a bat. He has shot straight through the minors to dominate even AAA in his first full season. Just about the closest thing your going to get to a sure bet for 30-40 HR and a 300 AVG at the major league level. Should be making his debut at the beginning of 2015.
SS- Francisco Lindor (SEA)
So far me and Thomas have dominated this first team squad. Well, his second appearance on the list features a SS who can hit for average, knows his way on the bases and can absolutely stick at the premium position. Figures to be a central part of the build in Seattle.
OF- Yoenis Cespedes (OAK)
The homie is for real. Enough Said
OF- Starling Marte (KC)
Has been very solid since he arrived in Pittsburgh. Hits for some power, gives you solid speed. A strong all around member of any squad. Royals should be very happy to have him included in their rebuilding efforts.
OF- George Springer (BOS)
While the average leaves something to be desired, he's always been able to draw some walks and the power is for real. Also can provide excellent speed even though he hadn't really displayed as much during his debut in Houston.
SP #1- Jose Fernandez (BOS)
Before going under for TJ this season he already had 3 10+ strikeout games including 14 strikeouts at one point. Had an absolutely insane debut last year which he did after skipping both AA and AAA. Should be a fixture in the Cy Young race for quite some time.
SP #2- Yu Darvish (BAL)
An absolute strikeout machine. Forms a very formidable Asian 1-2 punch with Tanaka in Baltimore.
SP #3- Masahiro Tanaka (BAL)
Before getting hurt he was making Jeff look good and while that holds true to this point, we'll hope he returns to form following his DL stint. With the above mentioned Iranian Fire Slinger, Jeff has the makings of a strong 1-2 for years and years to come. He also has Tanaka locked up for the duration of what should be his prime contending years.
SP #4- Hisashi Iwakuma (OAK)
What the fuck is up with all this Asian Persuasion son.
SP #5- Matt Shoemaker (CWS)
Where the fuck did this guy come from?
