These are the players who I feel are the main course or "Meat" of free agency.
1. David Price- 3.26 ERA 271 K'S and 1.08 Whip...sign me up...again.
2. Hanley Ramirez- At one time was the consensus #1 or #2 player in all of fantasy baseball but as Hanram has gotten older his body has failed him only reaching 500 ABS once since 2010. Hanram still remains 1 of the top SS out there but...a possible move to LF could dent his long term value.
3. Jon Lester- Another piece of the World Series champion Cubs rotation, Lester was acquired mid-season from Detroit and became a key cog in the Cubs championship run. Sub 2.5 era 220 k's and a 1.10 whip. He can play on my team.
4. Pablo Sandoval- Put up very similar stats to #2 FA Hanley Ramirez but in a full season. One could make the case he's the top bat on the market and with a move to Fenway in the cards Panda could see his stats tick up.
5. David Ortiz- Seems like the new heart of Boston's order are Free agents...anywho Big Papi isn't a SS or 3B or young BUT he is very, very productive. One could say he's timeless last season at ripe age of 38 he put up 35 hrs.
6. James Shields- "Big Game" James is the definition of durable now posting 8 straight 200ip seasons.
7. Mat Latos- Could say he's just a tick below James Shields in terms of production but also he doesn't have the track record and Latos missed a lot of time last year making just 16 starts.
8. Matt Wieters- Was supposed to be "Mauer with power" but these days im sure fantasy owners will take a Catcher with 20hrs over "Mauer the 1b".
9. Doug Fister- Last season his first in the NL his K's fell off a cliff but a sub 2.5 ERA a 1.08 Whip and 16w's on a good team there is a lot to like with Doug Fister.
10. Chris Davis- Hmm this name sounds familiar ahhh yes! This is the same chris davis that got 30m last year in free agency. After a disastrous 2014 campaign (Still 26 Hr's) that included a PED suspension how much does he get this time in FA?
