30 NYY- When your best player is Rickie Weeks and the year is soon to be 2015 you know you’re in trouble.
29 LAA- Like the Yankees this was a playoff team/contender just 2 years ago and now like the Yankees have the odor of a 13 year old fat kid in gym class that hasn’t discovered deodorant.
28 ATL- The years change but the Braves remain at the back of these power ranking lists 2016 looks to be the year where the braves atleast rank in the mid 20’s. The Braves im sure will be happy come June.
27 TOR- The Bluejays also tend to be at the back end of power rankings but they are accumulating (at a snails pace) minor league talent and will also be a happy team come June.
26 SD- Bryce Harper and some cadavers….yep 2016 World Champs…..
25 CIN- Most of the Reds assets are in the minors but they have around 25mill to throw around in Free Agency.
24 STL- Haven’t fallen from grace quite as far as the Yankees but they have been hit in the face by shovels. Traded Harper Traded Machado got younger but still face an uphill climb with PIT and CHC at the top of NLC.
23 MIL- Had a solid draft in 2014 and have 40+mill for Free Agency to add to Abreu and Wong
22 SEA- Had lots of picks and lots of spects at one point has a young core but cap issues…tried to run before he could walk.
21 PHI- Has some nice hitters but almost no OF and not a ton of SP. Will be a player in FA with over 70mill to spend.
20 TEX- Roster has it’s bright spots but lacks sp. Window could be closing.
19 LAD- Not strong really in any area but has more depth than last year. 25mill in Free Agency will help.
18 CLE- Big players last year in free agency didn’t = playoffs. Barring a miracle lose Hanley Ramirez ownership will determine which direction the Indians head.
17 SF- Added some vets to roster the sp is very good 48+mill in Free Agency will also help.
16 HOU- Has some solid bats and solid arms 70+mill for free agency the Lastros look like they are getting out of the NLC basement finally.
15 KC- Been trending up for a couple seasons traded for 3B Josh Donaldson and have over 40m available for Free Agency. Kc has signed at least 1 big Free Agent last 2 seasons I look for that to continue.
14 MIA- Trout + improved sp +30mill to improve the roster= Playoffs? Maybe.
13 WAS- Had a good 2014 aided by the non injured Mets contracting typhoid BUT no Miggy in 2015 it will be difficult for Nats to repeat as NLE Champs.
12 BOS- Perhaps the youngest team in ODC the RedSox could contend in 2015
11 TB- 2014 was a rough year for the Rays and they abandoned their rebuild plans in hopes of returning to the playoffs in 2015.
10 MIN- Twins broke though in 2014 and made the playoffs. They can add to their roster perhaps become a powerhouse with close to 50mill to spend in Free Agency.
9 DET- Tigers have made playoffs 3 straight years and also have 40m to spend in Free Agency.
8 BAL- The O’s have added Goldschmidt to Altuve and have Darvish. Problem is they seem maxed out on cap. Can they hold off arch rival TB and youthful Boston?
7 CHW- The OF is excellent and the SP is young. Financially they seemed maxed out. Need to find a way to improve infield
6 OAK- The defending AL champs return the almost the same team but minus Matt Latos.
5 COL- Added Votto and Heyward plus have over 30m to spend.
4 NYM- Very deep SP and should remain healthier
3 PIT- Very young team made the playoffs for first time in 2014 doesn’t have cap but im sure can make a deal if need be.
2 ARZ- Return a deep SP staff and dangerous offense. Plus im sure he will steal a LF from someone.
1 CHC- The REIGNING…DEFENDING CHAMPIONS…OF..THE…WORLD! Lose Price and Lester to Free Agency BUT traded for Kershaw. A healthy Cargo and a deep farm to trade for whatever they may need.
