Ondeck Circle 2015 Draft | Pick Number | Team | Player | Reason | 1st | | Dansby Swanson | If the Rays keep this pick they will take the best overall player which is Dansby Swanson but more than likely this pick will be moved or Swanson will be traded later in season for playoff push. | 2nd | | Tyler Jay | The Reds next best option with this pick is a shortstop or Daz Cameron and they already are loaded with shortstops and Daz is a risky high school bat. They should snag the college lefty with this pick to play it safe. | 3rd | | Brendan Rodgers | back to back to back picks. The Tigers have it easy and will take the best available player with the 1st two being the High School bats in Rodgers who they will need when there two shortstop leave. | 4th | | Daz Cameron | My favorite player in the draft is Daz Cameron, son of former player Mike Cameron. He has a good amount of tools and is probably the best High School player. | 5th | | Dillon Tate | This pick was a little tricky but I think the Tigers need to sway toward the pitching with one of these top picks and they should ultimately take Tate over Fulmer and the size difference could play a small part as Fulmer only stands at 5'11. | 6th | | Kyle Tucker | Could take a college player here to play it safe or could get greedy and put it all in for a possible top bat. Tucker is a big boy with his 6'4 height but he only weighs in at 175, so will need to put on some weight. | 7th | | Carson Fulmer | The Angels need a lot but with nearly 100 mil next off-season and a lot offense going into free agency. They could invest in pitching and take a college pitcher that might get a quick call-up. | 8th | | Garrett Whitley | Wood seems to be playing his cards safe in rebuilding the Braves and I do not think he will be in a rush to draft players that are able to make a quick impact, rather than take a top player like Whitley. | 9th | | Tyler Stephenson | Stephenson could end up getting taken even earlier but if he falls to Wood here I imagine he snags him.. | 10th | | Andrew Benintendi | After already taking pitching they should look to grab an offensive bat to help out in the distant future. | 11th | | James Kaprielian | Two High School players back to back. Might drift Wood to taking pitching and James should be the best open at this time. | 12th | | Jon Harris | These next couple of picks are sort of a toss up player value wise but Harris could end up sliding up in our draft. Seems like a solid player. | 13th | | Trenton Clark | Team already has plenty of prospects waiting for call and will like to have some ready for seasons down road. | 14th | | Ian Happ | 1st pick since the 2nd pick but after this they have a couple more and might be going a different route taking a hitter here, especially being a college player and already having a close team to contending. | 15th | | Kolby Allard | College, college... High School. The Reds should go after the best High School player with this pick and you could make argument about who it is but as of right now I think Alllard will be the top choice. | 16h | | Walker Buehler | Could take anyone but I think they find way back to taking a college Vanderbilt pitcher in Buehler. | 17th | | Phil Bickford | Is a little high on some draft boards but I see him falling around this area in our draft and the Angels could use another college pitcher. | 18th | | D.J. Stewart | Might be a tad bit of a reach for some people but I think the Reds will end up making the reach that could end up being a great steal. | 19th | | Nolan Watson | Once again can go anywhere! However, there offense is young and one of the best they could use backup pitching if anything happens. | 20th | | Kyle Funkhouser | This guys draft stock has fallen and rose back up over the last weeks but I think, Bill will find a place for him on his team with the 20th pick. | 21st | | Cody Ponce | We all know Brent loves pitching and Ponce might be the best one open at this spot that can be ready quick. Ponce could also fall completely out of 1st. | 22nd | | Liam Sabino | I doubt the Indians keep Drew by the time Liam gets the call and it should be sooner than later as he is a great defensive SS that will post a good average. | 23rd | | Donny Everett | The Brewers already have solid hitting, just need the pitching and with the Central being so crowded. They might go with a High School player like Donny. | 24th | | Cornelius Randolph | With more draft picks this year and later next season, I see no reason why the Tigers should not take another shortstop. If one becomes a bust, they still have another option with the other. | 25th | | Kevin Newman | Even Brent could use the offense and Newman is projected to be the best bat at this time and he could use the young shortstop. | 26th | | Mike Nikorak | Could get taken a bit earlier with his arm but if he falls to Bill. I think he will take him in dire need of pitching and it gives him a college and high school pitcher. | 27th | | Ashe Russell | With last pick in 1st you have to go big and if Russell is still here. Cody should grab him and add another solid player to the draft and possibly have the best draft this season. | 28th | | Nathan Kirby | Kirby is just the typical safe player that most teams take around this area but since the Tigers have another pick they could use what is considered a safe bet in Kirby. | 29th | | Chris Betts | Solid player that might slide really far down with elbow issue in his arm, he is currently shut down but if healthy might be a still later on if not taken by Tigers. If Betts goes down look for Plummer to be taken here. | 30th | | Michael Matuella De Oca | The dude is tall at 6'7 and a college pitcher. Likely will be moved to pen but with last pick in 1st nothing wrong with that. He should be a quick call-up, if moved to pen. |
