i have an idea. this is sort of like what someone said one time so sorry for the idea steal. We keep it at 4 so good deals dont take forever. every veto adds another vote needed to approve (i.e 1 veto needs 5 approves total, 2 vetos 6 approves total, etc...) 5 vetos is an automatic veto.

I'm good with 6-8 approvals. However, it should be locked automatically after, say, 36 hrs

That could work too George. But I do kinda think we need a set amount.

the only reason i dislike 8 is because the good deals shouldnt have to wait so long

I voted for 6, as 4 is too small, and 8 is too large.

Its evident voting doesnt matter trades can be vetoed even after they have been approved!

Quite frankly I am in favor of Phillies' idea. I think if the league is quiet for example and a trade is clearly not gonna be vetoed, why do we need 8 people to say it's fair? If a person vetos then it deserves more review, but it's kind of annoying if u wanna update your roster and u hate to wait awhile for 2 more people to approve your deal that is clearly gonna be passed.

Owen I put this up because with 30 guys in a league and 15 of us are on a lot or check in everyday we need more votes. 4 votes or 4 vetoes is too few. I as well like George's idea

I'm cool with George's idea. I think only four vetoes for an auto veto would be fine though, seems like enough opposition to a deal.
I might like to have a time frame before the trade is automatically approved/vetoed.

I dont think the number really matters. Phillies does seem to have the best idea so far. I think that there should be some type of rubric or something because there are still way to many vetos.
I realize that there have been some bad trades, but I really dont think people are cheating. Unfortunately I there will be people that do dumb things and then leave the league. We still need to let people run their teams. I know I say this often, but I think we should have a rubric or something to look at to see how detrimental a trade would be to the league, and not just if you think its not fair.
There are a lot of trades where people think team A is robbing team B then someone else say Team B is robbing team A. People have their own opinions, and that is what makes it fun and makes trades work.

maybe we should have a guideline to follow for a veto, like name 3 reasons you veto or is it actually a league changer?

My guideline for a veto is if it is a league-changer that decreases league parity by a good amount.
