You'll have noticed changes on the Master Roster over the past few weeks. Most of the changes are more background processing improvements, as processing the 30 daily transactions and trades this league cranks out is a giant pain in the ass. Changing the league over from year to year was also a weeks-long process, which will likely be shortened to a day or a few hours, meaning the offseason trade freeze will be significantly shorter. The other obvious change is in the format update and going away from the separate 40 man and 25 man rosters.
Going forward:
Owners no longer need to post when they move someone from their inactive 40 man roster to their 25 man roster. Just pick up your guy on ESPN on Monday so they're eligible for the week, per the offseason rule change.
Owners no longer need to post players to their disabled lists. You'll still be paying them, and they'll still be a part of your 40 man roster. You can either put them on the ESPN DL or just drop them to FA's on ESPN. You still own them until you post an outright release in here. You can replace a DL'ed 25 man player from your 40 man roster mid-week if needed.
To remove someone from your 40 man roster, you need to have them clear waivers if you wish to retain them. When they go through waivers to your minors, you no longer pay that player. Making these "Waive to Minors" waiver transactions revokable is something that's being worked on. Of course outright releasing a player will also remove that player from your 40 man.
You will still have to make a "call-up" post if you want to move someone from your MILB roster to your 40 man roster.
Let's all try to be honest with our transactions on ESPN. If you see someone adding a FA midweek, check to see if there was either a trade or injury on that roster. If there wasn't a trade or DL, then the add wasn't legal.
