Chicago White Sox | Is led by RF Mike Stanton, DH Hunter Pence and 2B Ben Zobrist. Big things are also expected from SS Starlin Castro and C Jesus Montero. Offense overall has a few weaknesses. |

Clevand IndiansSS or is it 3B Hanley Ramirez leads the offense CF Adam Jones and C Alex Avila should add some support. 3B or is it DH Alex Rodriguez is still a big part of the offense no matter where he is in the field even if he is declining. Ridding themselves of Arod’s contract could go a long way in filling holes in the lineup.Trevor Cahill lead a rather mediocre pitching staff. Relief Pitching- Huston Street leads a pretty strong bullpen that also has Dan Bard which could lead to Bard moving to the starting rotation.Isn’t very deep but has some talent at the top SP’s Jacob Turner and Danny Hultzen could make a impact for the Indians sometime this year.
Detroit Tigers1B Joey Votto 2B Robinson Cano, LF Carl Crawford and MEGA Free agent signing SS Jose Reyes form the core of a very good offense.Jordan Zimmerman and Matt Garza are at the top of a pretty good rotation that could be even better in Edison Volquez can rebound in 2012. Relief Pitching- Sergio Romo and Luke Gregerson are good arms in that pen but NEED a closer.Very deep and fairly talented. SP Julio Teheran may help out the rotation this year and SP’s Taijuan Walker and Dylan Bundy could help within 2 years.

Kansas City RoyalsIs inexperienced but Hosmer, Lawrie, Jennings, Moustakas and Dominic Brown could be a offense to be reckoned with as soon as this year.Erik Bedard, Hellickson and Wandy Rodriguez give the Revamped Royals a nice 2 3 4. If Matt Moore get the call look out rotation could be very strong. Relief Pitching- Bullpen got a make over with some FA signings Ryan Madson and Rafael Bentancourt pen could be good.Even after graduating a half of dozen guys to the majors the KC system remains strong and deep. SP Shelby Miller SP Martin Perez C Travis D’Arnaud and OF Wil Myers could also be in KC this year.

Minnesotta Twins1-9 is pretty solid not spectacular. 1B Freddie Freeman looks to take another step forward this year and DH Adam Dunn looks to rebound. The Staff is what could hinder the Twins playoff chances this year. Brett Myers is the number 1?…Relief Pitching-IS a mess. The Twins system is deep and talented. 3B Wil Middlebrooks looks like the only possible immediate contributor to the big league level but the lower levels of the system is very talented.

American League Central 2012 Summary |
AL Central should be a highly competitive race this year. Tigers offense looks to be very good and pitching I think is good enough to get job done. Whitesox are not far behind they have the superior pitching but offense is lagging behind the Tigers. KC is a dark horse here only thing they are lacking is experience will be tough to handle very soon. Twins hitting is ok but the Pitching talent is just lacking too much for them to be considered a threat currently. CLE has too many holes right now BUT if they can dump some of their bad contracts and add another bat or 2 I can see them being a threat soon. |
