Quick list of which farms I think are best/worst.
Clearly Top
1. Dodgers
2. Red Sox
3. Braves
4. Rockies
Clear top 4 for me. Impact talent both in pitching and batting. You guys know the top players here.
Great Farms
5. Astros
6. Reds
7. Yankees
8. Rangers
Still great farms. Could argue for one team here over any of the others. Yankees international class, Rangers OFs, Reds pitching, Astros power are all strengths.
Very Good Talent
9. Twins
10. Indians
11. Pirates
12. Rays
Pitching, pitching, and more pitching from these teams. Love the Indians stable of lefties and Pirates have Glasnow, Taillon, Kingham ready to see action. Rays have underrated bats in system too. Twins duo of Buxton/Berrios alleviate drop-off in talent a little later on.
Some Holes, Mostly Good
13. Phillies
14. Cubs
15. Brewers
16. Nationals
17. Mets
These farms have either a few top players ready to impress (Giolito & Turner) or a bunch of depth spread out. Cubs boast great bats but most of the system is further away. Brewers rapidly improving but still has areas of weakness. Phillies have Crawford of course but rest of system looks more and more like #4 starters and 2nd division players. Mets have Matz.
Life Finds a Way
18. Cardinals
19. Athletics
20. Royals
21. Giants
Three of these teams always find a way to bring talent to the MLB club, but right now, their farms don't look too great. Reyes is top notch, but Cards lack impact further down. A's move pieces all the time, and Barreto could be future at SS. I'm not a believer in Mondesi but Royals have lots of interesting arms. Giants impress with middle infielders and have some starters/relievers close to the majors.
Not the Worst
22. Padres
23. Diamondbacks
24. White Sox
25. Mariners
These farms have been depleted recently or don't offer much in terms of upside. Archie Bradley still waiting for a shot in Arizona. Margot could be special. Sox have an underrated farm in a sense - toolsy outfielders and secondary pitches abound. Mariners don't have much at first glance, but Alex Jackson could improve and recent draft was solid.
Bottom 5
26. Tigers
27. Blue Jays
28. Marlins
29. Orioles
30. Angels
Tigers draft relievers well and could have a bunch playing soon. Jays have a couple interesting prospects around the field but little depth. Marlins have toolsy types that need refining. I'm running out of patience for Harvey/Bundy duo. Reyes advancing to T100 status quickly. Let's not talk about the Angels.
