In a blockbuster deal with the Marlins, the White Sox shipped top outfielder Ryan Braun, Nick Swisher and Scott Baker for young slugger Mike Stanton, Ervin Santana and Emilio Bonifacio!
Having tried for Stanton the entire 2011 season, GM Michael Terilli finally got his new right fielder and co-captain.
"He is untouchable," says Terilli on the move, "If he is inquired about, I am shutting down the computer."

More recently, the Orioles and White Sox completed a monster deal. The trade was centered around Tyler Clippard and Peter Bourjos moving to Baltimore, with the Sox acquiring David Robertson and Adam Jones in return! Seemingly improv ing at two positions, the White Sox felt that it was best to mortgage off some of their future in order to acquire star talent.

The buzz around the White Sox has simmered down, but there are two trades that we have yet to catch up on.
First, GM Michael Terilli put together a package for Giants slugger Lance Berkman. The deal including closer Sergio Santos and pitching prospect Allan Webster. When asked about the deal, Terilli said that "Fat Elvis would slot nicely into the lineup behind Stanton".
Then, Terilli got a very formidable five-starter in Ivan Nova. The pieces sent in return were not big at all, as the centerpiece of the deal was young outfielder Carlos Peguero.
"Now that we got our five guys [starters] in place," Terilli said, "We need to fill our lineup."

White Sox make a stunning move on opening night of free agency! Ace Clayton Kershaw and slugger Lance Berkman are shipped off to Houston for stud starter David Price and All-Star right fielder Hunter Pence!
The deal makes sense from Chicago's standpoint, as they add another bat without decimating their rotation.
"We're closer to where we wanna be," said Terilli.

Today, the White Sox gained flexibility by acquiring rookie second baseman Jason Kipnis! The deal came at the expense of end-of-rotation starter Ivan Nova, as well as prospect catcher Gary Sanchez.
The deal was at minimal expense to Chicago, as they are still plentiful with starters. In addition, Sanchez isn't expected to arrive at the show for a few seasons.

The White Sox are winding down on a busy January 28th.
The first of two moves bolstered their bullpen, adding second-year pitcher Kenley Jansen to the talented pool of relievers in Chicago. The biggest piece flying to LA was young right fielder Brian Bogusevic.
Then, staff ace David Price was shipped to the City of Brotherly Love. From Philly came Madison Bumgarner and the speedy Ben Revere.
Terilli on the day as a whole: "We really patched up nicely today. The Sox might be done for the most part this offseason."

The White Sox have just pulled off perhaps their biggest deal of the offseason.
In a three-team deal with Detroit and Philadelphia, the White Sox finally dealt slugging right fielder Hunter Pence, along with workhorse James Shields and the speedy Ben Revere. In return, the Sox received superstar outfielder Carlos Gonzalez and young up-and-coming starter Jordan Zimmerman.
The deal allowed the Sox to improve upon their hitting while keeping their pitching intact.
Terilli introduced the two players Sunday morning in the White Sox spring training site in Glendale, AZ.
"This is a team built to compete this year and for many years to come," announced the GM. "I think I'm almost done for now. I don't know though, I say that a lot."

After a long time without trading, the White Sox have made a huge deal with Detroit! They send star outfielder Carlos Gonzalez and young pitching phenom Madison Bumgarner to the Tigers for slugger Jose Bautista and the fire-throwing Michael Pineda.
"We needed a third baseman badly," Terilli was quick to say. "I like Placido, but he's downright bad."

The Chicago White Sox have made two huge one-for-one trades this week.
The first was with Tampa, sending All-Star SP Matt Cain to Florida for another All-Star team member, Stephen Strasburg.
"Even though Cain has been better to this point," Terilli commented, "Stras has tons of potential. He's no shlub."
More recently, the White Sox sent stud SP CC Sabathia to the Angels in exchange for slugger LF Matt Holliday.
"Holliday adds some pop to an already-strong lineup," noted Terilli.
The new-look White Sox now have more cap flexibility for this season and in the future, in addition to trading for two talented players.

After a break that lasted far too long, we are back to report on the revamped Sox!
Due to an early playoff exit, Chicago has bolstered their MLB squad, looking to take it all in 2013. The lineup is one now featuring Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera, star third baseman Evan Longoria, sluggers Miguel Montero, Carlos Santana, and Paul Konerko, to go along with Sox vets Ben Zobrist and Mike Stanton. The pitching still features Gio Gonzalez, who gained some help in Jordan Zimmermann and Jake Peavy. The pen still flaunts stud closer Kenley Jansen, set up by Houdini, David Robertson.
White Sox GM Terilli is as confident as ever that Chicago is a force to be reckoned with.
"We may not win, but we fully expect to do so," said Terilli on Friday. He continued to say that the Sox are building a team for now and the future, with a clear focus on the MLB roster.
With a smile, Terilli added, "Don't think we're going anywhere."
